Why can't I just apply online?

We know insurance can be complicated. An online application can be very time-consuming to complete, and there will likely need to be follow-up by an agent to clarify some of the information. We’ve streamlined the process by assigning you an insurance specialist who will consult with you on your personal situation, help you arrive at the right coverage amount, term and price, and guide you to the company best-suited to meet your needs. We believe there’s no substitute for high-touch, personal, caring service.

Will I have to take a medical exam?

Yes. All insurance companies will want to see the results of a basic exam – height/weight, blood, urine, overall health history. Your representative will set this up at your convenience-home or office-and at no cost to you. If there are any follow-ups needed from the exam, an “Attending Physician’s Statement” will be requested by the company.

Does it cost me extra to use a licensed agent?

Not a penny. You can always count on free, courteous, knowledgeable service and zero pressure sales tactics. Our professional insurance specialists are committed to working with people like you to get the right amount of coverage without overpaying.

How do I know I'm picking the right amount of coverage and term length?

Insurance isn’t “one size fits all”. Your Life Insurance Central specialist is trained to help you think through your situation to help calculate the right amount of insurance and for how long, based on your personal situation, and answer your questions along the way.

Can I save money paying my life insurance once a year instead of monthly?

Usually, yes. You will almost always save when you pay less frequently than monthly – less billing and handling costs add up to savings for you. That’s why we show monthly and annual rates. We also offer quarterly or bi-annual rate quotes. Just ask your specialist when you call.

Can my spouse apply even if I don't?

Absolutely. And it’s likely that he or she should. You should never underestimate the financial contributions of a spouse – even a “full time homemaker” spouse. The cost to replace the valuable services that she or he performs would be surprising.

What are "nicotine products"?

Chewing tobacco, nicotine gum, patches, electronic cigarettes – each company may view these products slightly differently.

How can I communicate with my Life Insurance Central Specialist?

Once you’re assigned to a dedicated specialist, you can reach out to her/him either by phone, or if you prefer, email. You’ll be provided all of their contact information by a personal email to you.

How long will this process take?

You can get an instant quote in just a couple of minutes – with a few simple questions about yourself. If you like what you see and want to begin the application process, call us and if it’s a weekday, we’ll likely complete your application the same day, (otherwise the next business day.) The application call takes about 10 minutes. We then send your application to the insurance company and stay on top of your case until you get your coverage.

What information should I have handy when I'm ready to apply?

You should have a list of prescriptions you’re taking, your physician’s/physicians’ contact information, past medical diagnoses (and dates) and beneficiary information. If you need help deciding on the amount of coverage, your income, current savings and retirement portfolio, and estimate of outstanding debts will be helpful in figuring out your protection goals.

Are your life insurance agents paid on commission?

No. Life Insurance Central is different. To ensure our customers that the carrier and product recommendations we make are not influenced by compensation variables, each member of our team earns a salary, not affected by the carrier or specific product they recommend.

How do I know I'm getting the lowest price without shopping around or contacting an insurance company directly?

Our relationships with multiple insurance companies let us match your personal needs to the coverage and price that’s right for you. Because rates are regulated by each State Insurance Department, there’s often very little difference when comparing similar products. So, it’s ok to select the cheapest option, and still get the high-touch service and knowledge from your specialist.

I've had some health issues in the past; can I still get coverage?

Insurance companies look at health conditions and history differently from company to company. That’s why our multiple company relationships are important – to give you the best chance of finding the coverage that’s right for you. Our goal is to guide you to those companies and not waste time with those who are less likely to offer affordable rates with your specific health concerns.

I've smoked in the past. Should I still apply?

Yes. If you’ve not used tobacco or nicotine products in the last two years – and depending on your answers to a few brief health questions – we can give you a non-tobacco quote. Even if you’re still smoking, we may be able to find an insurer willing to consider your application, but at a higher rate, of course.

How do I know I'm getting coverage through a reliable insurance company?

Life Insurance Central only works with companies rated “A” (Excellent) or better by AM Best. Best is a renowned industry rating organization. High grades like this are a measure of a company’s financial strength and ability to pay claims far into the future.
